Что то на десятом трэке не ощутил я типтоновской гитарки. Если у Саманты она, а вернее он - солячок, был лекгоузнаваем и по пристовски похож на Гленна. То на этом альбоме он почти растворился в альтернативных подвываниях... Ну не знаю, может я и заблуждаюсь... сами послушайте...

THE FLYING HAT BAND

The Flying Hat Band were an early 1970s Birmingham, England hard rock act that, alongside Judas Priest, ranked as the Midlands' favourites to succeed. Despite not having released an album, the band proved a successful club act and eventually went on to support Deep Purple on one of their European tours.
The band folded in April 1974 following Glenn Tipton's departure to become the second guitaristin Judas Priest, who at the time had just signed their first record deal with Gull Records. Peter "Mars" Cowling joined Canadian rocker Pat Travers in 1975, and was part of Travers' band for several years. Trevor Foster joined folk rock group The Albion Band and Little Johnny England.
Signed to Vertigo, in 1973 the trio recorded a studio album which was never released as the label deemed the music had too much in common with Black Sabbath. Glenn Tipton is said to be in possession of the master tape, but it is unclear whether any material from it will eventually surface.
In 1992, small German label SPM International mysteriously released a split CD entitled "Buried Together", featuring progressive rock band Antrobus alongside 4 Flying Hat Band demo tracks, dated back to 1973.

Действительно, большую часть диска занимает неизданный альбом (1972) группы Antrobus, в главе с Элом Эткинсом - первым вокалистом Judas Priest (он ушел до записи первого альбома JP), а оставшуюся часть занимают 4 трека (из также в свое время не изданного альбома, 1974 г.) The Flying Hat Band - группы Глена Типтона до его вхождения в Judas Priest в качестве второго гитариста. Antrobus - просто отличный образец классического британского хард-рока. Почему их альбом в свое время положили на полку - для меня загадка. The Flying Hat Band тоже хороши, но менее оригинальны, слишком очевидно большое влияние BS

ANTROBUS were formed in early '71 when Britain's progressive underground scene was in full flight. A time of rich enthusiasm amongst the musical fraternity of the day, groups were setting up in abundance throughout the length and breadth of the country. Many of these part-time bands never really ecpected, or even desired, any vast riches or profits from their musical exploits; the reward was, in itself, merely being part of a group and sharing the friendship and togetherness that creating music brought.
This was very much the case with London based ANTROBUS. Their coming together was a result of a shared musical interest amongst four school mates who decided to make use of weekends and spare time by jamming together. For nearly a year ANTROBUS rehearsed in local church and sports halls, resorting to vacant rooms in unsuspecting parents' houses when decent rehearsal space was scarce !
A hard-driving rock approach, similar to that of STRAY, was adopted but the ability to contrast their sound with classy melodic harmonies became apparent too.
Whilst counterparts like SINDELFINGEN and DARK managed to demonstrate their qualities by having their recordings pressed onto vinyl, ANTROBUS, through sheer lack of funds, were unable to make the leap and were limited to a four-track tape recording.
It is fortunate however, to say the least, that such a recording was made in the first place let alone survive intact for twenty years. For a band with no backing and little money for equipment and the renting of suitable rehearsal space, it was hardly surprising that their existence was shortly-lived. What is surprising but pleasantly so, is the amazingly high standard of their playing and their accomplished song-writing abilities, reflected here on this CD.
These are the only known recordings of this truly obscure band who, nonetheless, displayed more than its fair share of imagination and musical alertness for such novices.
Within a few months of these recordings being made poverty and seeming lack of motivation took its toll and ANTROBUS quietly disbanded. Although several of the members were said to have resurfaced in another equally obscure outfit called PUGMA HO. even less is known about them.
