Группа кинодокументалистов обнаружила, что внимание больших белых акул можно привлечь с помощью музыки в стиле дэт-метал, сообщает The Independent.

Открытие было сделано ими в ходе подготовки передачи о жизни акул для телеканала Discovery. Съемочная группа собиралась запечатлеть на пленке большую белую акулу по прозвищу Joan of Shark. Ее имя представляет собой каламбур на основе имени Жанны Д'арк. Хищницу впервые заметили у берегов Австралии в 2014 году, ее длина составляет примерно 4,8 метра, а вес — 1,6 тонны.

Кинематографисты опустили в воду динамик и включили музыку в стиле death metal. Однако вместо Жанны на звуки приплыли две другие акулы. Одна из них была около 3,6 метра в длину.

Акулы способны различать колебания окружающей среды в пределах от 100 до 2500 герц. Как предположили эксперты, низкочастотные вибрации метал-композиций напоминают им те, что издают трепыхающиеся рыбы — их потенциальные жертвы.

В 2011 году австралийский новостной ресурс ABC сообщил об открытии, сделанном местным экскурсоводом Мэттом Уоллером (Matt Waller). Уоллер обнаружил, что проигрывание композиций группы AC/DC, исполняющей хард-рок, делает больших белых акул менее агрессивными и более любопытными. Особой популярностью у рыб пользовались песни Back in Black и You Shook Me All Night Long.

US cops say they reacted because Boston bus passengers panicked – leading to court appearance for 26-year-old
A 26-year-old metal fan was arrested in Boston, Massachusetts, on Friday, for wearing a fake bullet belt.

Kevin Young was apprehended after he boarded a bus wearing the traditional heavy music fan’s garb, along with spiked gloves and bracelets.

He’s was charged with unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawfully carrying a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct – but the charges were later dropped.

A police report says cops only acted because others on board the bus panicked and called for help – claiming Young was carrying a gun.

Boston Police Department report: “Officers responded to a call for a person with a gun. The driver had pulled the bus over as passengers began calling 911, when a male suspect boarded the bus with what appeared to be military-grade ammunition strapped around his waist.

“The driver stated the passengers were in a panic, fearing that the suspect was about to pull out a weapon.

“Kevin Young exited the bus and was stopped by police, at which time it was discovered the ammunition was fake.”

Officers say they recovered “69 replica bullets” and describe Young’s arm decoration as “spiked fighting gloves.”

The charges were dropped after prosecutors established that the bullets "could not and were not intended to be fired," said a spokesman for the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.
