Quote:
The line-up of Cory and Kevin Churko, Mike Norman and Shane Hendrickson released two CDs in 1993, one as The Explorers (We Always Want) and one as these guys: Underground Outlaws. Where the Explorers fused big stadium choruses a la Def Leppard and Bryan Adams, the Underground Outlaws were an honest mix of "Wanted Dead or Alive" Bon Jovi and "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" Poison with some more traditional southern elements. The song "Daddy's Little Girl" is a perfect example of this. Had Jon Bon Jovi recorded this sweet campfire rocker, it would have probably been a worldwide smash hit. Of course, these Outlaws remained Underground because the 1993 climate was inhospitable to hair rock, no matter how earnest. Luckily, the talented Churkos would get their moment of glory, teaming up years later with Shania Twain for her Up! CD. This CD is so rare, it's the first time I've been lucky enough to find it. Don't miss out on these elusive Outlaws!
