HANGMAN JURY is a Norwegian band that is playing Canadian orientated AOR/Poprock like HAYWIRE, SHY TALK… Only not as sensational, and there are some heavier guitars. Still, a song like "Who do U think U R?" is a pretty nice uptempo AOR/Melodic Poprocker like early HAYWIRE, IDLE EYES and a bit JIMMY HARNEN. Also pretty good are the AOR/Melodic rockers "Living a dream" and "Alive". Nice are "World of my own" (midtempo AOR), "When life was easy" (AOR Ballad) and "Like an angel" (melodic rocker like early WINGER). But it never gets really sensational, on the other hand there are not many weak spots, except "Reach inside" (90s average rocker). Concluded a nice CD. When you can get it cheap, you can buy it. But it's not a must!

Back in the 90's Hangman Jury was one of the most promising bands in the Netherlands. Within a year they released their debut cd-single, 'Am I losing you' on an independent label which sky rocketed straight into the charts through which they got invited to several radio stations which lead to a serious record deal. They released their first album, 'On Parole' which got received quite well a few months later. Their presentation occured, in cooperation with 'Mad Mick's Breakaway cafe', in a big shopping mall in Rotterdam which was never done before by any band. It resulted in a lot of attention in the press. However their second CD single, 'You're my angel' flopped dramaticaly, a second album, Rollercoaster train' was released less than a year after their debut. On this CD the band made a lot of progress which was the cause of their continuous touring through the Netherlands as wel as Belgium and Germany. The band even played big venues like for example 'Ahoy' in their hometown Rotterdam. As 'Hangman Jury' consisted of 7 bandmembers with strong personalities, things were tight on a regular basis. After 4 years of hard working the band exploded as a result of exessive drug and alcohol abuse and coliding ego's. Now 13 years later the four original members reconsiled their problems and make a brand new start without any ambitions but being on stage on a regular basis. 'Hangman Jury' is back!
