Got Me Going и No More типичные восьмидесятнические вещуги

Ок, три трэка на грани хард-рока. Но остальное ведь попса попсой :yyy:

Сейчас для сравнения второй трэк сброшу на Ютуб. Это как назвать? :starz:

Sinopoli - Real Rock Is back

Just as the holiday season peaks over the horizon, so does Sinopoli's brand of guitar-driven rock n' roll. Joey Sinopoli, Nicky Sinopoli, Bobby Abranowitz and Kevin Meyer return to 9 South Bar in Bayville on Saturday, November 21. The venue's floor has been expanded, and a raised stage setup has been installed, to accommodate the growing legions of Sinopoli's fans.

'It's like New Year's Eve in November!" exclaims frontman Joey Sinopoli. "Instead of Dick Clark counting down from Times Square, our tunes will be ringing through your head!"

The holiday season also begins with the release of Sinopoli's version of "Silent Night", which is being shipped out to local and international radio on November 16th. While normally surrounded by guitars and drums, this time Joey sings with a classical accompaniment.

"'Silent Night' is a change of pace for me," comments Joey. "I've always performed ballads, but I've never attempted something with this much history before. A classic to me was David Bowie's 'Moonage Daydream'. Our 'Silent Night' remains traditional sounding. You'll be surprised to hear the same voice that belts out 'Got Me Going' singing along to a harpsichord, oboe, bells and strings. The only thing missing is the backing vocals by Bing Crosby himself!"

Sinopoli's concert begins at 10 PM with drummer Kevin Meyer's band "Throttle" pounding out classic rock from the 70's and 80's. Sinopoli takes the stage at 11 PM to perform its signature songs "Got Me Going", "Let's Get The Party Started" and "When I Get Home". The band also includes such legendary bar room songs as The Allman Brothers "One Way Out", Bowie's "Suffragette City", Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama" and Kiss' "Strutter". The show lasts right up until 9 South's closing time -- and it's FREE.

The concert wraps a productive year for Sinopoli. "1998 was a great year," says Joey. "Sinopoli reunited. Our material was reviewed in all parts of the world, and our songs and information are featured on music websites such as Rock n World (http://www.rocknworld.com). However, we still have a long way to go. Whoever said 'it's a long way to the top if you wanna rock n' roll' was not kidding."

In 1999, Sinopoli will be recording new material, playing more shows and possibly establishing an independent record label featuring other melodic- sounding hard rock bands.

"There is a demand for our style of music. Sony, a major label, is signing bands like Warrant, Ratt and Poison. A & R giant John Kalodner (formerly of Geffen Records and who engineered the success of Aerosmith) is onto something if he's signing these bands to contracts."

Joey's point is well supported. In addition to American record companies, such European independent record labels as MTM Records, Escape Music, Now & Then and Z Records have been continuously releasing bands with a sound similar to Sinopoli. Pony Canyon is a distributor that puts hard rock bands in CD stores from Europe to Japan. World Wide Web magazines such as Silk And Steel, AOR Tracks, Rock N World, AOR Land and Mood Swings feature news and reviews of the latest melodic hard rock bands. There are also many e-mail mailing lists that discuss 80's heavy metal, hard rock and album-oriented rock bands.

Joey concludes, "Europe and Japan still have a thirst for hard rock. When I see a good band like Enuff Z'Nuff (Mayhem/Pony Canyon Records) having a sold- out tour of Japan, it inspires me. Sinopoli will expand its audience, too."
