This band has received tremendous critical acclaim on their very heavy 1993 cd "FORMULATIONS IN BLACK". The cd received coverage in most all national and regional magazines and the band's video for the title track received numerous plays on MTV Europe.
"GRAVITY" shows the band has matured as songwriters with a vast array of very original tracks. It is very hard to label the band's material due to the fact of the diverse tastes amongst the band. The band members sight influences from Megadeth to Weather Report, Ozzy, Zack Wylde, Phantom Of The Opera and Alice In Chains. The material on this cd has great depth and in many cases it will take more than one listen "to get the picture".
This cd features new vocalist/lyricist Eric Johns who seems to like to write about the mysteries of life and gothic themes. He was formerly the lead vocalist for the group FULL CIRCLE and has appeared in "Jesus Christ Superstar". Eric really shows some great work on tracks such as Eternity: Suite, Why?, and In My Nature.
The other band members are all the same as from Formulations; Kenny Soward - drums, the dynamic duo of Darrin McKinney and James Carr on guitars and bassist Dave Swart. Jeff Higgins, who worked on the last Lethal, Full Circle, Formulations In Black and Chastain cds, acted as producer/engineer on this release.
With the band being based out of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area, and not living in Seattle, LA or New York, SIMPLE AGGRESSION is not affected that much by trends and the easiest way to describe this release is "DARK, HEAVY, INTELLIGENT, PROGRESSIVE AND INTENSE ROCK AND ROLL".
