Flash Kahan (USA) - Demos (1982) Hard Rock By Richard Defendorf, of the Sentinel Staff | May 12, 1985 Flash Kahan, Flash Kahan (Capitol ST-12415): In 1982, Detroit guitarist Doug Kahan began distributing demo tapes of his songs to people with music- industry connections. Kahan wrote in an impressive range of styles, delving into everything from Jerry Lee Lewis keyboard boogie to Def Leppard hard rock. Among those impressed with Kahan's work was Bob Seger's manager, Punch Andrews, who helped muster support for a recording project.Kahan (pronounced KAY-han) organized a quintet consisting of guitarist Bruce Flash, keyboardist Matt De Raad, a drummer who calls himself ''The Baron'' and saxophonist Tomo Tomas.
