Five guys angry over the bullshit situations of life with much spirit and drive, expressive freedom and the desire to bust ass on stage adds up to the explosive creation that is ABANDONED.

An instantaneous meld of musical styles ranging from searing metal hooks to a bluesy flavor blends diverse energy to this equation.

The backbone of the band is supplied by Yin and Yang, alias Joe Morrison and Bill Sussie.

Joe, with a fury known only to tribal lords, adds spice to any metal sacrifice. His blood, sweat and guts approach to pounding the skins is the rhythmic glue to the operation.

Then there is Bill, the 4-string attacker, whose rock solid attack style bass playing compliments Joe’s one-two punch. Wanting to never supply just the root notes, he adds subtle licks to round out the bottom end, helping supply the basis of the ABANDONED sound.

The raw edge and screaming guitars are wielded by Tim and Matt Rassa. Brethren of the six string and partners in crime, they tear through riff after riff coming at you with both barrels. Never satisfied with the confines of tradition, they’re always looking to break the rules. Their down in the gutter rhythms echo, while their melodic leads soar, inspiring the ear and driving the heart.

That brings us to Aaron Shuck, the voice of this machine, eternally driven by an overt lust for conducting a love affair with the audience. He strives to run the gamut of his vocal power continuum, which can tear through the fibers of your brain or take your soul on a journey to heaven.

With this, the line-up is complete. SIT DOWN, BUCKLE-UP and HOLD ON, ABANDONED is driving.

BAND HISTORY:

The Band, ABANDONED, was conceived and started in 1994 by Matt and Tim Rassa, the band's guitarists, with a Hard Rock to Metal musical style.

The first few years were the years of growing pains. These were the years when the band grew together, creating itself, its music and its own unique style.

Let us start with Matt Rassa, the younger of the two brothers, who is as comfortable playing his fast leads as he is in playing searing rhythms. Tim Rassa complements delivering hard edged progressions along with melodic leads. Together their leadership and musical talents have grown and taken the band in the direction it needs to go. Aaron Shuck is the band’s vocalist, whose captivating vocal style and flare for lyrics brings any show to life. Joe Morrison whose true rock background and powerful drumming style leads to a deadly combination. Bill Sussie is a bass player with talent and determination. He can mesmerize with his fluent bass licks. With all of the elements together, it is nothing less than explosive.

The band has just released their first full length CD. The CD's contour is anything but standard, progressing from powerful love ballads to the heavy side of rock.

To date the band's Web Site has been browsed by individuals in over thirty countries, producing major opportunities in many areas, including California, Illinois, Memphis and Australia.

According to guitarist Matt Rassa, we all feel abandoned sometimes. But, as true as that may be, when you hear the band, hopefully it doesn't trigger quite the same negative reaction.

These guys out of Baltimore have gone against the grain to produce music they really love, music that really drives them: hard rock. Although lately the resurgence of this genre is worth noting, "It's not what record companies are pushing for these days," says Rassa. "But we're going with the belief that people want good party rock - and people are eating it up because they're not hearing it on the radio, but they still want it." Rassa adds that Abandoned could probably perform modern rock with a greater potential of getting signed, but "it just wouldn't be worth doing, it's not the music we love."

Their true love for hard rock blossomed two years ago, when Abandoned first formed. Rassa is joined by older brother Tim on guitar, Aaron Shuck on lead vocals, Nick Fredericks on bass, and Joe Morrison on drums. The crew tours the club scene throughout Baltimore, York, and Washington, D.C., and they'd love to head south to the Carolinas.

Expect sets to be packed with a healthy mix of hair band covers from Poison and Mötley Crüe, as well as Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Godsmack, Buck Cherry, and Megadeth. Originals spawn from Tell the Tale, their 1999 debut album; a few tracks are gaining radio airplay on scattered college stations. Abandoned is currently creating more originals for another album to be released next year. For additional information, visit www.abandonedrocks.com.
