Blackwing (US) - Demo 1991
BLACKWING were a FANTASTIC hair metal band from Los Angeles from the late '80s/early'90s!! This 2-song demo (c1990 but released in '91 and also features a band interview) is very RARE and features great melodic '80s style metal showing influences from Slaughter, Poison, Love/Hate and Tesla. I believe the band is fronted by a female vocalist (Vicki Tama) who actually sounds like a cross between Jizzy Pearl (Love/Hate, Ratt, LA Guns) meets Jeff Keith (Tesla). Very professional package with great artwork on glossy fold-out J-card with individual photos of band members and full credits on flap. Also comes with the original B&W 8"x10" promo photo of the band! The 2 tracks are brilliantly written catchy, melodic rockers with excellent production (recorded at Joe Floyd's Silver Cloud studio) and superb musicianship highlighted by fantastic vocals from Vicki! Side two features interview with the band.
